  All of the kennels were clean. The dogs were well taken care of. I adopted a puppy on December 8, 2016. She looked so forlorn in her kennel. She didn't lift her head or even wag her little tail. She touched my soul and I had to have her. She is a little skittish but so very loyal. I am convinced that York County Animal Control provided me with the gift of a lifetime. Thanks for all of your hard work and for doing a fabulous job. Keep up the good work. Thank you for my wonderful bundle of joy.

  Oreo was dropped off on Tuesday and was euthanized the same day. This was a health beautiful dog who could have easily been adopted out. Shame on you. May karma be at your door very soon.

  Oreo was dropped off at the York County SC Animal Control on Tuesday afternoon and KILLED that day. She was taken in because her owners were moving and she had no where to go. We had several interested people but sadly they will never get the chance to meet her because they are killing dogs as they walk in the door at York SC Animal Control. Do not go to this God forsaken kill shop. Most horrible!!

  A friend of mine who had lost her husband adopted a dog at the shelter. Within a month, she learned the dog had health problems. She contacted the shelter and the ASPCA. Her calls were not returned. This is someone who has suffered a loss and chose to adopt a dog as a companion. Now, she must deal with the animal's suffering and probable death. Please make sure you examine the animals before putting them up for adoption to avoid disasters like this.
